Homestead Log Cabin

Available

Saved from the brink of demolition in Wisconsin, the Homestead Log Cabin is a triumph of architectural salvage and expert structural refinement. We carefully deconstructed this historic pioneer-cut cabin and transported the materials to our facility, where it underwent a highly technical restoration process. Our mandate was clear: preserve the rugged, authentic character of the original building while significantly upgrading its performance and precision for modern luxury applications.

The structure now features a versatile 16' x 26' footprint, enhanced by a classic 7' front porch and an interior half loft. During the restoration phase, our craftsmen executed critical architectural modifications. We cut entirely new, watertight dovetail notches throughout the structure and carefully re-coursed the logs to reduce chinking gaps. The logs were then professionally power-washed to reveal a clean, striking natural patina. To crown the structure, we integrated a custom ridge beam roof system featuring authentic round pole rafters salvaged from a separate historic barn, creating a seamless marriage of two distinct pieces of agricultural history.

This meticulously restored and modified log shell offers a tightened, weather-resistant envelope that bridges the gap between historic charm and modern building standards. It is an ideal, ready-to-erect core for a bespoke guest house, a stunning vaulted great room, or an architecturally significant private retreat.
